Palliative care focuses on improving the quality of your life and providing comfort when coping with a serious and chronic illness. In the dedicated palliative care suites on our medical/surgical/oncology unit, you and your family may find respite or relief from the stresses of your cancer care.
Our specially trained nurses and holistic practitioners (Reiki and Therapeutic Touch, for example) can help you manage pain, discomfort and other possible side effects of your cancer treatment, such as depression, nausea and fatigue, in a respectfully maintained private setting.
Home Health & Hospice CareBecause we understand that local community resources can play an important role in your cancer care, Southern New Hampshire Health System is a longtime supporter of Home Health & Hospice Care (HHHC). HHHC is known for comprehensive home and community health care for people of all ages and circumstances in 33 communities throughout southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. HHHC provides assistance with activities of daily living, skilled rehabilitation, and nursing services. The agency has embraced technological advances in medicine to provide telehealth monitoring and specialty nursing programs.
HHHC also owns and operates the Community Hospice House in Merrimack and offers hospice services to patients in nursing facilities as well as in the comfort of their own homes.

Community Hospice HouseHome Health & Hospice owns and operates the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Here, the patient is both the focus and the most important member of the hospice team. The team includes a medical director, board certified in hospice and palliative care; a Hospice House manager; patient care coordinator; nurses certified in hospice and palliative care and other support staff. The team joins with patients and families in a common effort to control pain, manage symptoms, and create an atmosphere of emotional and physical comfort.
The ten-suite, one-story Hospice House is located at 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH, easily accessible to people throughout the region. The Hospice House serves approximately 200 patients a year and is one of three such facilities in New Hampshire.
