A cancer diagnosis often carries challenging psychological and social consequences. At Foundation Hematology/Oncology, a dedicated oncology social worker can assist you by offering a variety of resources to help you cope with stress, family relationships, and issues related to employment and finances. We offer programs and services to help with all aspects of cancer care, including answering questions; discussing financial, emotional and spiritual needs; and putting you in touch with appropriate resources and support programs, in both the Cancer Center and the community at large.
We can help with:
- accessing information to help understand diagnosis and treatment
- coping with a diagnosis of cancer
- considering decisions about treatment options
- providing support for you and your family
- helping you find support within the community
- making referrals to support and educational groups
- assisting with Advance Directives and Advance Care Planning.
