Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram

Dobutamine is a medication given through an IV that causes your heart to beat faster and stronger, just as it would if you were exercising. During this test, an ultrasound is performed on your chest while you are receiving Dobutamine. This test is used when you cannot participate in a traditional stress test on a treadmill.
