All of us are paying more out-of-pocket cost for health care. Southern New Hampshire Health System (SNHHS) wants to share some resources which help patients understand the price of medical care. Doctors and hospitals are getting better at explaining the cost of care to patients; the challenge is that every patient is different, and it is hard to know in advance what testing and treatment will be necessary.
The New Hampshire Insurance Department developed NHHealthCost.org to provide the estimated prices of health care services statewide, including those at SNHHS. The prices you see from HealthCost at the links below are for patients who have medical insurance and for those without insurance. The price information is updated four times a year. These tools provide useful information and a sense of comparative cost among different providers for common procedures.
Please understand that the prices included there might not reflect the actual costs of those services. Again, precise estimates of the portion of your bill that you are responsible for are difficult to predict because we don’t know the exact services you will receive, if you will need additional services related to a procedure or treatment, or the details of your insurance plan benefit.

IF YOU HAVE COMMERCIAL INSURANCE...
Commercial insurers negotiate prices with hospitals and other providers on behalf of the patients they represent. The discounts vary among insurers. Numerous factors, such as type of plan, co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible also will affect your financial responsibility. Call your insurance company to understand all of the factors affecting your financial responsibility.
IF YOU ARE UNINSURED...
Southern New Hampshire Health System offers financial assistance and discounts. You can call SNHMC’s financial assistance line at 603-577-2241 or Foundation Medical Partners customer assistance at 603-577-7900 for information about your options. If paying your health care expenses could create a financial hardship for you, our staff will work with you to apply for assistance and/or set up a payment plan.
Price information should not be used alone when making health care decisions. It can give you a good starting point for more informed discussions between you and your physician. Please talk to your doctor or other health provider to help you make the best health care decisions for your specific circumstances.
