The Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center provides family-centered care with your needs in mind. In fact, we incorporated many of your ideas into our new design: spacious private birthing suites, a comfortable bed for Dad or a guest, room service meals at your convenience, and many other family-friendly features. The Birth Place Director, Carol McIntyre, is available at (603) 577-2583.
We welcome your visit. To arrange for a tour, please call (603) 577-2560 at least one half hour prior to your arrival, so that we can be sure a guide is available for you. The Birth Place is located on the East side of The Medical Center. From the Main Lobby at 8 Prospect Street, turn right at the reception desk and follow the hallway straight ahead to The Birth Place.
When you choose The Birth Place, you have the added reassurance of knowing you will have:
- Experienced, highly-trained doctors and nurses who listen to you
- A Pediatric Hospitalist team consisting of neonatologists, pediatricians and nurse practitioners, available around the clock
- Two large on-site operating rooms equipped with advanced technology for those needing a Cesarean birth, and anesthesiologists available around-the-clock
- A state-of-the art infant security system
And just in case your baby needs extra medical care, it’s comforting to know that our Level III
Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is right down the hall. One of just three in the state, it is the only one in Greater Nashua, offering family-centered care in a quiet environment.
