Services Offered at the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center

Our comprehensive pediatric rehabilitation services are conveniently offered in one location in southern New Hampshire:

Occupational Therapy: Our pediatric occupational therapists (OT) can work with your child to improve self-regulation, arousal modulation, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, handwriting, and visual motor and visual perceptual skills to enhance your child’s independence and adaptive functioning. Pediatric OTs are also part of a multidisciplinary team that provides feeding evaluations for children.

Physical Therapy: Pediatric physical therapists at Southern New Hampshire Pediatric Rehabilitation Center can treat children with problems in gross motor skills, body awareness, coordination and balance, lower body weakness, and postural abnormalities/ weaknesses. Through directed play and family education, our physical therapists help children to gain or restore their functional abilities so they can participate in daily activities.

Speech Language Pathology: Speech language pathologists will work with your child to provide therapeutic interventions for conditions such as articulation/phonological delays/disorders, motor planning challenges, receptive and/or expressive language delays/disorders, fluency, voice disorders, oral motor dysfunction, and sensory or motor-based feeding disorders.

Specialty Programs:
  • Sensory Integration (We have SIPT certified therapists): Our specially trained occupational therapists use an individualized sensory integration approach to improve your child’s ability to process and respond to sensory messages. They can also administer and interpret Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests.
  • Feeding Team: Our Pediatric Feeding Team consists of a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Dietitian who will assess the “whole child” and all the possible contributing factors that impact eating. Evaluation of your child includes a thorough medical and feeding history, a 3-day journal of your child’s typical food intake, and an assessment of your child during a meal.
  • Therapeutic Listening Program: Therapeutic Listening uses specially modified music along with sensory integration (SI) strategies to promote improved time and space organization, handwriting, visual motor skills, motor control, timing and social interactions. Individually tailored to your child’s needs, it is part of an overall sensory integration program.
